South 🏗️ Infrastructure & Restoration
Infrastructure is more than just technology – it is a carrier of viability, trust and future. The southern zone of the Geo-Resilience Compass focuses on the protection, restoration and forward-looking design of critical infrastructures – especially in regions that are particularly vulnerable to natural hazards or systemic stress.
Earth Observation (EO) is understood here as a structuring tool: It supports the identification of resilience zones, accompanies reconstruction processes and links technical robustness with social connectivity.
Modules and concepts are emerging here that, among other things:
- plan resilience zones that not only protect but also purposefully strengthen local agency
- further develop existing preparedness structures for natural hazards such as floods, heavy rainfall or earthquakes – supported by EO and local expertise
- make technical robustness and restart strategies visible as part of a holistic restoration logic
